Spots that are difficult to access can be reached as grease is reliably drawn in when the lever opening is at its smallest, and can be pumped to the lubrication point. Loose cover with clamp allows manual support for the spring force in any position for compression of bulk grease or for pressing the cuff into damaged cartridges. Push rod can be locked in any position – push rod does not need to be pulled all the way back to release grease from the spring pressure (no grease saponification).
