Big plans, straightforward and safe.
Use the height of the room, the lifting height of the stacker, and the height of the loaded pallets for orientation. Also keep the aisle width required for forklift trucks in mind.
Aisle widths required for the forklift truck
- Traffic routes must be designed with a minimum width of 2500 mm.
- Aisles between the rows of shelving units must be selected with a width that allows fork lift trucks to make a 90° turn, and put items into, and retrieve them from, storage.
- The clearance height of passageways must total at least 2000 mm. Likewise, passageways and overhead elements must be secured using a suitable shelf cover to prevent the goods in storage from falling down, for example using moulded chipboard or grates.
- For fall protection purposes, the external uprights must be at least 500 mm higher than the top shelf.
- Collision guards must be installed on external frames and passageways.
- Each shelf bay is equipped with at least 2 pairs of beams installed on top of each other. Please note that the spacing between beams in a shelf bay may deviate by a maximum factor of 1.2.
- When using mesh pallets, they must be placed on depth angle frames. Storing mesh pallets directly on the beams is not permitted.
- Single shelving units that are installed as free standing units require mesh rear panels to prevent the goods in storage from falling down.
- Pallet racking must be anchored to the floor. Installation is only permitted on concrete floors (minimum quality C20/25 with corresponding reinforcement) with a minimum floor slab thickness of 200 mm and a minimum drill hole depth of 150 mm.
- Asphalt, gravel floors, composite stone paving and concrete floors with floor heating are not suitable, or only suitable to a limited extent.

Effective length
The effective length is the distance from the floor to the first pair of beams. If this length needs to be greater than 1260 mm for your individual application, please provide us with the exact dimensions as well as the max. shelf load required for the static test.
